CATHERINE SUTTON -EAGLESTON
Catherine Sutton, aka “Katie” Fox Crossing Equestrian’s Barn Manager and resident "Kid" Trainer/Mentor, has been riding for over 14 years. As a teenager she participated in 4-H and spent time competing in local horse shows. Katie graduated from Post University with a BS in Equine Management. While at Post she competed on both the Equestrian Team and the Dressage Team, providing her a solid foundation in both disciplines. While in college she began teaching beginner lessons to kids and adults interested in learning how to ride.
After graduating college, Katie ran her own horse boarding facility. This enabled her to get her feet wet in the management side of the business while continuing her passion for teaching and giving riding lessons.
Katie has worked as the Barn Manager for Caer Avallach Farm LLC, a pony breeding farm in CT, Kettle Drum Farm, and Kasson Ridge Farm, LLC. While working as the Barn Manager at Kettle Drum,
Katie began running horse camps for kids between the ages of 5 and 16 years old. She loved every minute of it and found that this was a niche in which she excelled.
Katie and her husband Matt, along with their dog Cisco, live on the property at Fox Crossing Equestrian. she is able to manage the barn and provide constant care to both our horses and clients. Along with overseeing a safe, healthy and organized facility she strives to teach both kids and adults, step-by-step, the building blocks needed to be successful in horse management and horseback riding.
