CATHERINE SUTTON

Catherine Sutton, aka “Katie”  Fox Crossing Equestrian Barn Manager and resident "Kid" Trainer, has been riding for over 12 years. As a teenager she participated in 4-H and spent time competing in local horse shows.

Katie graduated from Post University with a BS in Equine Management. While at Post she competed on both the Equestrian Team and the Dressage Team, providing her a solid foundation in both disciplines. While in college she began teaching beginner lessons to kids and adults interested in learning how to ride.

After graduating college, Katie ran her own horse boarding business. This enabled her to train horses and continue her passion teaching riding lessons.

Over the last five years Katie has worked as the Barn Manager for Caer Avallach Farm LLC, a pony breeding farm in CT, Kettle Drum Farm, and Kasson Ridge Farm, LLC. While working as the Barn Manager at Kettle Drum, Katie began running horse camps for kids between the ages of 5 and 16 years old. She loved every minute of it and found that this was a niche in which she excelled.

We feel lucky to have Katie as our Barn Manager at Fox Crossing Equestrian. Along with overseeing a safe, healthy and organized facility she strives to teach both kids and adults, step-by-step, the building blocks needed to be successful in horses and horseback riding.
