LESSON HORSES

Meet the lesson horses of Fox Crossing! Each of our horses and ponies has been hand selected for use in our lesson program. Our qualified instructors will match you with a horse that best fits your needs keeping in mind that each horse has its own personality. Many of our lesson horses are also available for lease.

Hi! My name is Tackful Austin aka AUSTIN. I am a 15 hand, 17 year old, large bodied chestnut, Quarter Horse Gelding. Everyone agrees I am a wonderful guy with a sweet personality. I love giving lessons to children and adults of all ages. I have a really smooth trot, an easy canter and I can do auto lead changes. I really love teaching students to jump and I can jump a 3’ course with ease. I also really enjoy being in horse shows and have traveled as far as Vermont for big shows to win lots of ribbons!

Hello, my name is BEAU-DANDY. Some people call me Beau and some people call me Dandy. You can call me whatever you want as long as you give me a treat or a sip of my favorite drink, “Mango Madness” Snapple. I am a 25 year old, 15.2 hand Chestnut Quarter Horse Gelding. I have taught many beginners over the years and I am great on the lunge line. I can walk/trot/canter. I used to love to jump but now I am limited to teaching flat lessons. I am REALLY slow and usually you need a crop to get me to go. I think I am one of the best beginner lesson horses out there.

My show name is Meant To Be, but my barn name is GODIVA because of my rich chocolate coat. I am a 13 year old, 14 h beautiful liver chestnut pony mare.

I am a registered Quarter Horse, but I do not look like one. I can walk/trot/canter and jump up to 2’3”. I love to do lead line and teach all of the beginners how to ride. I am very patient and will go really slow if you prefer me to so come meet me soon!

Hi! My name is Nutter Butter aka PEANUT. I am 16 years old and 15.1 hands. I am an Appendix Quarter Horse Mare. I might be new to the program at Fox Crossing but certainly quick to be everyone’s favorite! They love my champagne color and my smooth canter. I try not to brag but I have been to all the horse shows and can take you anywhere from short stirrup to jumping around a 2’9” course with my eyes closed! Come and meet me!

My name is Boston Utopia aka TRISCUIT. I am a 5 yr. old, 14.1H Double Registered Paint/Quarter Horse Gelding. I am an adorable chestnut pony with four white socks. I am so happy to be at Fox Crossing now and I am ready to teach you how to ride! Triscuit is great with walk/trot/canter and loves to jump. He is a terrific teacher and gets his leads with his eyes closed! He has tons of personality and loves kids. He is extremely easygoing and suitable to teach all levels of riders.

My name is Little Joe aka L.J. I am a very cute 13.2 H gelding, 15 year old, paint pony. I am the perfect packer in the ring and can take you from walk trot to cantering to jumping around the show ring! LJ instills confidence and happiness in his riders.

Hi my name is Rock Candy aka ROCKY. I am a 12’1” ¼ Hand Welsh Cross, 13 Year old, Grey pony gelding. I have done it all from short stirrup to pony hunters. My jump is great, I am a nice mover, I have auto changes. And I am an amazing first show pony that will take care of you in the show ring.

Hi, my name is Pollyanna but they call me POLLY.

I am an older pony and love to teach beginners. I can teach walk/trot/canter and how to jump some small cross rails.

I am really good at teaching on the lounge line. Everyone tells me I am a great pony to learn to canter on. Polly is very sweet on the ground, all the kids absolutely adore her and she loves to be groomed.

My name is Finding Nemo aka NEMO. I am a 15.2 hand, 7yr old, chestnut grade quarter horse, gelding. They rave about how flashy I am and my beautiful white blaze socks. I am a very cute mover and have a wonderful trot and canter. I am being used for some of our more advanced riders.

My name is TROY. I am a 17 hand, 18 yr old, Fleabitten Grey, Warmblood , gelding. I have done it all from lessons to the show circuit. I am the perfect horse to take you anywhere you want to go and love to pack my rider around the ring. Don't worry about me I may be big but I am one of the sweetest guys at Fox Crossing!

My name is Knightsbridge aka BENTLEY. I am a 17 hand, 16 yr old, Chestnut, Thoroughbred/Dutch Warmblood gelding. I am very easygoing and have been told I am more like a big puppydog than a horse! I have a great trot, smooth canter and can get my lead changes with my eyes closed. I am an old pro at horses shows, been there..done that, and can't wait to take my girls around the show circuit this year!

Clifford I am a 13.2 H, gelding Apaloosa pony. I can help you do it all! I can teach you how to walk, trot, canter and even jump courses!
