LESSON HORSES

Meet the lesson horses of Fox Crossing! Each of our horses and ponies has been hand selected for use in our lesson program. Our qualified instructors will match you with a horse that best fits your needs keeping in mind that each horse has its own personality. Many of our lesson horses are also available for lease.

Hi! My name is SHAMUS. I am a 15.1 hand, 15 year old, flea bitten grey, Connemara, Gelding. Everyone agrees I am a wonderful guy with a sweet personality. I love giving lessons to children and adults of all ages. I am a favorite in the camp programs and also like to be in the FCE horse shows. I also really enjoy teaching Dressage lessons! Did you know that is my old forte? I have shown thru second level and love to teach riders to bend, sit trot and learn the fundamentals of dressage with my long time partner, Liz Braverman!

I am partial leased by my buddy, Cristina Sordi.

Hello, my name is BEAU-DANDY. Some people call me Beau and some people call me Dandy. You can call me whatever you want as long as you give me a treat or a sip of my favorite drink, “Mango Madness” Snapple.

I am a 26 year old, 15.2 hand Chestnut Quarter Horse Gelding. I have taught many beginners over the years and I am great on the lunge line. I can walk/trot/canter. I used to love to jump but now I am limited to teaching flat lessons. I am REALLY slow and usually you need a crop to get me to go. I think I am one of the best beginner lesson horses in the world!

My show name is Meant To Be, but my barn name is GODIVA because of my rich chocolate coat. I am a 13 year old, 14 h beautiful liver chestnut pony mare.

I am a registered Quarter Horse, but I do not look like one. I can walk/trot/canter and jump up to 2’3”. I love to do lead line and teach all of the beginners how to ride. I am very patient and will go really slow if you prefer me to so come meet me soon!

Hi! My name is MIMOSA. I am 16 years old and 15 hands. I am an Appendix Quarter Horse Mare. I might be new to the program at Fox Crossing but certainly quick to be everyone’s favorite! They love my Black color and my smooth canter. I try not to brag but I have been to all the horse shows, have auto lead changes and can take you anywhere from short stirrup to jumping around a 2’6” course with my eyes closed!

My name is Mischief Maker aka TRISCUIT. I am a 7 yr. old, 14.2H Double Registered Paint/Quarter Horse Gelding. I am an adorable chestnut pony with four white socks. I am so happy to be at Fox Crossing now and I am ready to teach you how to ride! Triscuit is great with walk/trot/canter and loves to jump. He is a terrific teacher and gets his leads with his eyes closed! He has tons of personality and loves kids. He is extremely gentle and suitable to teach all levels of riders.

My name is Lunch Lady aka LADY. I am a flashy 16.1H, 14 year old paint mare. I am the perfect packer in the jumper ring and have lots of scope to take you as far as you want to go! I am an IEA favorite, have auto changes and love teaching more advanced riders to jump and do courses. I have been to local shows and made my debut in the 3ft ring at some of the rated shows including HITS. I have great manners and a sweet personality too! I am half leased by my buddy Jenna Sadecki.

Hi my name is Rock Candy aka ROCKY.

I am a 12’1” ¼ Hand Welsh Cross, 13 Year old, Grey pony gelding. I have done it all from short stirrup to pony hunters. My jump is great, I am a nice mover,

I have auto changes. And I am an amazing first show pony that will take care of you in the show ring. MOM APPROVED!!!

My name is Winning Ticket aka SPIKE. I am a 16 hand, 9 year old, grey, Appendix Gelding. I have been told I am as sweet as they come and really try to please. I am very smooth to ride and have a terrific canter. I love my job teaching kids and adults to walk, trot, canter and learn to ride and I am always excited about meeting new people. I am starting to even get my lead changes! My easygoing personality and good looks will make you fall in love the minute you meet me!

My name is TROY. I am a 17 hand, 18 yr old, Fleabitten Grey, Warmblood , gelding. I have done it all from lessons to the show circuit. I have lots of show experience in both the hunter jumper world and the dressage ring. I am the perfect horse to take you anywhere you want to go and love to pack my rider around the ring. Don't worry about me I may be big but I am one of the sweetest guys at Fox Crossing!

My name is Knightsbridge aka BENTLEY. I am a 17 hand, 18 yr old, Chestnut, Thoroughbred/Dutch Warmblood gelding. I am very easygoing and have been told I am more like a big puppydog than a horse! I have a great trot, smooth canter and can get my lead changes with my eyes closed. I am an old pro at horse shows, been there..done that, and can't wait to give you the confidence to continue on and teach you all I know!

Clifford I am a 13.2 H, gelding Apaloosa pony. I can help you do it all! I can teach you how to walk, trot, canter and even jump courses! I do auto lead changes and I absolutely love going to shows (even the rated ones). Let me stand on cross ties all day and groom me ....I know you will give me treats!

Hi, my name is Steel My Heart, but everyone at the barn calls me TEDDY. I think I got the name because I am so lovable! I am a 16 year old, 14H Welsh Pony Gelding. I am one of the newest members at Fox Crossing and they say I fit in immediately. I have a very sweet personality and I love to teach riders of all ages how to walk/trot/canter and jump. Auto lead changes too! I am partially leased by my one of my favorites ~ Maddie Gesmondi!
